The Who Is She database was created in connection with the project “Engendering the Public Sphere”, a Jordanian-Danish bilateral project. The database is an Arabic/ English version of a Danish database developed and hosted by KVINFO the Danish Center for Information on Women and Gender. The decision to make a Jordanian database was made upon a visit by the team of The Jordanian National Comssion for Women JNCW to KVINFO in fall 2006. On this occasion JNCW was introduced to KVINFOs Database of Women Experts and it was decided to deploy the database at JNCW as part of the project of creating a more gender sensitive public sphere. The database is available in both languages, Arabic and English and hosted at KVINFO.
